I have thirty years of industrial experience in the field of communications engineering for real-time applications. This work has included many years in the development of architectures using graphical model based principles.
Located in Bremen, Germany, I have worked over the years as an engineer, independent consultant, team leader and as a part owner of technology concern. I have served in telecommunication, rail, automotive, and marine sectors of industry for organizations of all shapes and sizes from small technology startups to international concerns with world-wide presence.
In recent years my focus as an independent consultant has been on the introduction of visual model based methods for system and software development, using a more rigorous approach.
I graduated with an electronic engineering degree in 1986. Systems engineering, and in particular, the use of visual methods were part of those studies which has motivated me throughout my entire career.
My postgraduate studies were focused on information technology and more recently, in technology management. I am an accredited Chartered Engineer (UK) who is registered with the Engineering Council and a corporate member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology in London. I am also a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).
I have represented companies in the development of international standards to support their products, and contributed to due diligence by assessing development department practices in companies on behalf of prospective investors.
